Suzie grew up near the mining fields of Sapphire in north-west Queensland where her father used to fossick for sapphires, he then taught Suzi how to cut gemstones. With a four-year apprenticeship opportunity, Suzie left the gold fields to the big city lights of Brisbane. Her early jewellery making experience was working with opals and wasn’t till well after her apprenticeship finished that she really began to develop her own style and designs. And when she did, she didn’t look back. Her collections are inspired by travel both overseas and within Australia.
Suzie not only works on her own designs, she also works closely with clients who commission her to make one-off pieces or have their old pieces remodeled. And in between this she delivers jewellery making classes.
